Busaba, Kuala Lumpur – Take two

We celebrated Dad’s birthday at Busaba.

A relatively new Thai restaurant around the Bangsar block, I like Busaba for its creative Thai fusion recipes. The food is flavorful, but the preparation is sometimes hit or miss. Very heartwarming food, however, and apt for a family dinner or get together with friends.

This is my second round at Busaba, my earlier review was brief and almost a year ago on 26 January 2011 – it was more a touch and go.

We started with appetizers:

Thai Fish Cakes

Main dishes eaten with fragrant steam Thai rice:

Chicken cutlets wrapped in Pandan leaves with sweet chilli dip

Stir fried tofu with basil leaves

Salted egg yolk fish balls with salted fish –

Stir fried Kailan –

When it came to desserts, we tried:

Steam Tapioca (my new favourite) –

– Two most popular Thai desserts: Tub Tim Krob and Mango Sticky Rice

Verdict: Heavenly Thai! Not your usual authentic menu, but definitely worth your time.
